Getting ready for the shoot

How should we get started?

Getting ready for the shoot

What if we have no idea where to start?

No worries, many couples who are in the early stages of planning may find it hard to narrow down their options.

Take a week or two to put together a mood board of images you've both come across and like. Once you've put your collection together, it should be easier to spot patterns in the images that you're drawn to, common themes, colour tones or palettes, mood/feel etc.

This mood board will be very helpful in planning our shoot together!

How to choose outfits?

Being in a comfortable and less restrictive outfit would give us more flexibility when it comes to the variety of shots we can get.

For shoots in nature, we usually recommend cleaner outfits in neutral or earthy colours to help you stand out from the messy background. Avoid complicated prints or designs which may blend into the greenery.

If you're planning to shoot at an urban location with clean backgrounds, we have a bit more flexibility when it comes to outfits. Go for something comfortable that doesn't blend into the background.

Getting permits for shoot location

If we are planning to have our shoot at an indoor or private location, we recommend writing in prior to the shoot to get approval for a shoot to avoid any surprises on the shoot date.

Optional stuff

  • Bouquets
  • other props

Shoot day

Lets go!!!

It's the day for our shoot! Try to get ample rest the night before, we will need all your energy for our shoot! Here are some useful items to bring along:

Comfortable pair of shoes that you don't mind getting dirty

Some locations may require quite a significant amount of walking, do bring along a comfortable pair of shoes to feel more comfortable (If you have a pair that may not be too comfortable but you'd like to feature them in photos, we could bring them along to change into for shots in which they're visible)

Spare outfits or inner shirts for guys

This would be especially important for couples who may sweat a little more (especially for guys who might be in several layers of clothing that make up the suit), an inner shirt or spare set of clothes would come in helpful to avoid unsightly sweat stains in photos.

Extra makeup and hair pins

If your makeup artist isn't joining us during the shoot, having some makeup on hand (especially lipstick) would come in helpful, especially on extra hot days!

Other useful items:

  • Water
  • Wet and dry tissues
  • Sunblock & mosquito repellants
  • Fan
  • Umbrella

Post shoot

All done! Now for the edits!

You can now relax and focus on the rest of the wedding preparations while we work on the edits! This usually takes about 2-3 months from the shoot.

Once your photos are ready, we will send a link to an online copy so that you can access them immediately while the USB drive is mailed over.

FAQS:

Can we bring a friend or family member along for the shoot?

Sure! Friends and family could be a helpful addition to our shoot!

Some of our more extroverted couples may enjoy the company and energy that friends and family bring to the shoot.

However, couples who are more reserved or shy might feel less at ease when having someone tag along.

Can we include our pets in the shoot?

Definitely! We would love to work with all furry friends! Do let us know about your plans early and we'd be happy to make some recommendations for the shoot!

How many hours would we require for our shoot?

We usually recommend spending at least 1.5 to 2 hours at each location to make the most of our time as couples can take a while to warm up to the camera.
